About Green Design Salons

AIGA Center for Sustainable Design actively encourages AIGA Chapters across the country to organize Green Design Salons in their own communities.  The format of these events can be flexible and scaled to match the level of interest at the individual chapter level.  Salons can take the form of an official Chapter sponsored event with invited speakers, sponsors, vendors and venue, or can be as informal as a few like-minded designers gathering at a cafe.

Many AIGA Chapters have already created events around the topic of green design, and several have active Environmental Chairs or committees dedicated to developing programming and resources for their individual chapters and communities.  Below you will find an updated list of planned chapter activities.  Please check back often for events in your area.

It is our hope that motivated individuals in each chapter will help create a community of practice around the topic of sustainable design, and will create programming and dialog that addresses the needs and professional interests of the AIGA membership locally.  We are in the process of identifying individuals within each chapter who are passionate about sustainability and who would be interested in serving as points of contact for CFSD within each chapter.  If you are interested in being considered for this role, please refer to the CFSD Chapter Liaison section at right.

AIGA’s Center for Sustainable Design encourages chapters to develop Green Salons to provide members with a forum for discussion around sustainable design issues. Our hope is that the Salons will in turn generate discussions, questions, and opinions that will enrich the content of this site.
